This unique concept and outlook is born from the belief that a respected property print platform and its editorial team are often regarded as the voice of the people, and -- by extension -- represents the collective conscience of the nation. Through the printed stories and articles, these publications are able to raise important issues for discussion, highlight matters that have impacted our everyday lives and provide a crucial forum for the opinions and viewpoints of consumers.  "Society becomes all the richer when its people are exposed to issues that have depth of analysis and range of thought. Very often the people behind the thought-provoking issues and opinion pieces are the print editors, whose conscience for what is right and fair drives them to address issues that would otherwise be overlooked," said MPPA chairmanGunaprasath Bupalan, who is also the managing director of Emjay Communications and managing editor of Property360Digest. In his speech, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad lauded the awards and the recipient, saying: "The Malaysian Property Press Awards had been showcasing the many creative initiatives brought forth by property developers and the supporting industry players to help home buyers find their dream homes. We hope that this would open up possibilities, and hopefully this will trigger fresh perspectives and mind-sets to address the issues." This year, the Malaysian Property Press Awards has taken a step closer to its goal to be an authentic property press awards by inviting superstars from various media and industries to sit on the valuation team as VIP judges. These individuals includeDatuk Seri Abdul Jalil Abdul Hamid (CEO of the New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad); Datuk Wong Sai Wan (Editor-in-Chief of Malay Mail and COO for the media business of Ancom Bhd);Datuk Seri Dr Vincent Tiew (Senior Vice President of Aladdin Group);Dato' Seri Jackie Tee (a renowned consultant);Previn Singhe (CEO of Zerin Properties); Ishmael Ho (CEO of Ho Chin Soon Research);Ar Ezumi Harzani Ismail (President of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia);Nordin Abdullah (Founding Chairman of the Malaysia Global Business Forum); andGunaprasath Bupalan. About the Malaysian Property Press Awards The Malaysian Property Press Awards (MPPA) is an initiative by strategic property content provider Emjay Communications. It is an annual awards ceremony that recognises the outstanding achievements of participants within the property industry via a unique format.      Now in its ninth year, the MPPA has carved a niche for itself as the only property awards ceremony that is adjudicated exclusively by senior members of the press. It utilises a comprehensive selection process that takes into account the positive market impact; performance; quality of products; calibre of services; and the scope of corporate social responsibility activity that candidates have exhibited. MPPA chairman Gunaprasath Bupalan, who is also the managing director of Emjay Communications and managing editor of Property360Digest, has accumulated years of expertise in researching, writing and following these industry experts, and has given many talks on market forecasts, potential growth of areas and projects that have potential market growth. MGBF Special Report: PNB to back companies with global potential

Fund's confidence in top homegrown multinationals bodes well for long term prospects KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Jan. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- According to the Malaysia Global Business Forum (MGBF) research team,Malaysia's biggest fund manager Permodalan Nasional (PNB) should remain committed to local companies with global competitiveness and opportunities despite challenging market conditions. Under the new federal government, PNB is now headed by former Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) governor, Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, who was appointed the fund's group chairman last July. Although some analysts say that PNB may take a more prudent approach under Zeti, the research team feels that PNB will still invest heavily in companies with strategic national interests. With stakes in some of the largest corporate players in every sector, all eyes will be on PNB's corporate moves in the next few years under the new government. Investors will monitor any possible shifts in the fund's investment strategy. Approximately 70% of PNB's funds are invested in the local stock market and public equities. They include industry giants such as Sapura Energy Bhd (oil & gas), Malayan Banking Bhd (financial), Axiata Group Bhd (telecommunications), Sime Darby Bhd (diversified) and SP Setia Bhd (property). The companies stated above are prime examples of PNB's investments in companies with global potential. Despite the volatile oil and gas market, PNB is still confident in Sapura Energy's turnaround plans and the company's potential for returns in the long term. Last year, Sapura Energy raisedRM4 billion from a rights issue that will be utilised to pare down debts. In November, Sapura Energy announced the proposed sale of a 50% stake in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sapura Upstream to Austria's OMV AG (OMV). The company's original cost of investment in the assets isUS$ 896m (RM3.7bn). The deal will translate into a disposal gain of RM2.5bn (net of RM39m proposed transaction expenses). The proceeds from this deal will also be used to reduce its debts. In 2017, Malayan Banking (Maybank) achieved a historical corporate milestone. The bank's total market capitalisation crossed theRM100 billion mark. It was the first company on Bursa Malaysia to hit this landmark. In 3Q18, Maybank posted loans growth of 4% year-on-year (y-o-y), led by its Malaysian operations (+5%). Its growing business segment included consumer-based loans (+7%), specifically mortgages (+8%), auto loans (+5%) and unit trust financing (+7%). In 2017, Sime Darby went through a major restructuring exercise to create more long term growth and value for investors. It spun off its plantation and property businesses that are now separate listed entities on the main market of Bursa Malaysia. Only about 15% of group revenue comes from Malaysia, while 70% of its 20,000-strong workforce is based overseas. SP Setia is an established property giant with not only major projects in Malaysia, but also overseas such as the prestigious Battersea Power Station development inLondon, a joint venture with Sime Darby and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Last month, it was announced that SP Setia and Sime Darby Property will be selling their stake in the Battersea Power Station project forRM8.351 billion (1.583 billionpound) to PNB-Kwasa International 2 Ltd, a joint venture vehicle between PNB and EPF. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019. Axiata Group is the country's leading telecommunications company with almost 300 million subscribers and 25,000 employees acrossAsia. In 3Q18, Axiata Group posted core net profit ofRM318m. Its operations in Indonesia under Axiata XL sustained its growth momentum in the same quarter with 4.9% and 3.1% quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q) growth in revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) respectively. SEOUL, South Korea, March 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Bo-young Park, Reporter from Daily Associated News of The World Network of SNS Press, recently interviewed co-host Mr.Jong-kyu Park, CEO of WikiLeaks Korea, about the purpose of the event 'National Assembly Forum' which will be held onApril 30. Korea's gross national income (GNI) per capita has officially exceeded $30,000 inMoon Jae-in's 3rd year of administration. Meanwhile government policies related to labor, financial, corporation and economy are still key concerns of Koreans. This policy seminar on proposal of a solution to alleviate job insecurity, as well as boosting economic growth of the Republic of Korea, is attracting attention as to whether the forum in the National Assemblywill be a solution. Interview transcript as below: Q : What are the economic achievements of Moon Jae-In Administration for the past 2 years? Moon Administration which started from May 2017 just entered its 3rd year. One ofits most notable economic records is that GNI per capita exceeded $30,000. The Gross National Income (GNI) per capita of Korea, which was $28,000 when the administrationstarted, is assessed to have exceeded $30,000 threshold at the end of last year. Q : What are the factors to impede economic growth of a country so far? Can you provide an example in terms of growth rate, employment, exports, etc.? It is indicated that there are many barriers lying ahead for Korea in moving toward GNI per capita of $40,000 and $50,000. Its growth rate is currently balking at 2%, and its employment and exports are struggling amid adversities. Experts point out that itsoutdating industrial structure, ever widening gap of income inequality, low birth rate and fast aging population are crippling Korean economy. As revisions of various laws and investigations were aimed at large companies such as Samsung, Hyundai, SK, LG, Korean Air and Asiana, which are called 'heart of Korean economy', Korean companies have been discouraged, some argue that policy shift is urgently needed to boost the morale and entrepreneurship of Korean companies. Q: What topics will be focused on and discussed at the forum? SEOUL, South Korea, April 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Daily Associated News will host an exhibition ofPark Soo-Bok, a notable performing artist in the world, at the National Assembly Hall onApril 18-19, 2019. This exhibition will be held in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Korean Independence Movement, 3.1 Movement. The exhibition are also co-hosted by National Assemblyman Kim Sung-chan and artistPark Soo-bok, and jointly sponsored by the Haein Art Museum and Daily Union, which consults not only art communication but also art products that combine works of famous writers with product designs of companies. Daily Associated News is currently working on the development and growth of the Korean art industry by linking to eBay auction systems in 25 countries. In this sense, it is more meaningful because the exhibition of the artistPark Soo-Bok, which is displayed at the invitation of the National Assembly, is one of the process for the development of the Korean art industry. Park Soo-Bok has held more than 130 exhibitions abroad and in Korea, and awarded numerous times. His constant challenge to overcome difficult time and hardship inEurope and Asia shows great impression and endurance to us. The philosophy of life and the energy he puts in the canvas can simply tell us why he is receiving attention from many people. "As if a new life were born in a global village, I would like to lead to the power of the paint brush and hope that the precious lives will be united in peace and love around the world," he said. As previous artist did, artist needs to practice the philosophy of life, which requires constant creation. The trait that always yearns for something new and tries to approach the expression of enlightenment is living and breathing is his work. His brushwork is free and bold. Sometimes heavy and rough, soft and relaxed, and the spread of color is sharp while gentle. Various touches contain a world of their own that no one can imitate. He wants to be an artist who expresses and seek changes what he misses and shed. And much of what he needs to realize in his life and saying, "We're thirsty for passion for the realization of our lives." He speaks of the world through self-introspection, and questions a lot of what humans should think through canvas. Painter Park Soo-Bok has a strong artistic performance that he appreciates with music in a momentary, fast sketch through inspiration. So, his name was Per-hamming Action Performance. His ability to complete works in a short period of time and shift instantaneous epiphany to the canvas is attracting media and galleries around the world. Very soon, Park Soo-bok will be an artist from 25 countries on eBay and will prove his skills worldwide with digital exhibitions and art products. In this addition, we also expected to see new focus from art world. Combining Oriental painting with the traditional Western painting method of filling, piling and scraping, the aesthetic of the East and West is capturing on one canvas, and he has earned a reputation inEurope as a prominent artist. His work is drawn in a single motion, so it cannot be modified. The question of "How is this painting suitable for Western painting?" But people have to admit that whenthey look at the work of artist Park Soo-Bok. Artist Park Soo-Bok is expected to be a new recognition of many of the problems that this era has forgotten and missed, and to be remembered as a pioneer in the flow of art and art field around the world, with many traces of the Per-hamming action performance. He was invited to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement in Korea, he has a plan to have invitation art exhibit in April 18thto 19th in Korea National Assembly building on the 2nd floor to honor our ancestor's love of our own nation, their dream of wellness and world peace by invitingJapan, United States of America and Korea's artist. "A Thousand Days of Change" -- Mulaika's Maiden Solo Exhibition

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, April 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Art Gallery Creative Space is currently hosting the works of Mulaika Nordin, the youngest artist in the history for its program for emerging artists untilMay 26, 2019. Mulaika's, currently 15 years old, first solo exhibition is titled "A Thousand Days of Change" which showcases her best works since she burst into the art scene in early 2016 days after her grandfather passed away. <https://photos.prnasia.com/prnh/20190412/2434659-1> A Thousand Days of Change” is Mulaika’s maiden solo exhibition hosted at the National Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. With no prior training, some observers say it is a spiritual and artistic opening and inspiration that enabled Mulaika to suddenly able to paint her diverse body of work ranging from the mystical to whimsical. Zain Azahari in his opening speech stated, "'Res ipsa loquitur' is a Latin phrase that means'the thing speaks for itself.' Mulaika Nordin is the youngest artist in history to be supported by Balai Seni Negara under its Creative Space program which promotes emerging artists. To my mind, that statistic not only speaks for itself but also speaks volumes for the precocious talent which is on display in this 15 year old's first solo show here at the home of Malaysian art ." "It is almost surreal to think that "A Thousand Days of Change" is a thematically profound exploration of relationships, travel, loss, identity and other key life experiences. As someone at the other end of the age spectrum, it is a reflexive reaction for me to question whether it is plausible that someone so young is equipped to engage in a meaningful artistic and intellectual discourse on such weighty topics. However, that is to forget that a lot of things can happen in the first fifteen years of a child's life. The remarkable thing here is not that Mulaika has experienced many'seismic' events at this young age, but rather that she is already blessed with an artistic voice, which though still undoubtedly raw, enables her to communicate her thoughts and emotions with such eloquence." "In recent years, much of my focus as a collector has been to recognise the work of younger artists and to support their progress. To my mind, this approach is critical for the growth of art in our country and I am confident that Mulaika will be one of the shining lights in the future landscape of Malaysian art. Balai Seni Negara must be commended for having the foresight to bring this body of works to the Malaysian public and I invite you all to embrace the repertoire of Mulaika Nordin as we bear witness to a defining moment in the journey of this fine young artist." Mulaika has created over 100 paintings to date and posses her own network of 20 collectors. This exhibition will feature around 40 of her best work in 'a thousand days' since her first painting (2016-2018). "Although still young and new, Mulaika's works reflect her maturity in the use of material, mastery of techniques and narrative aspects of a personal expression," stated En. Faizal Sidik the Curator at the Balai Seni Negara. "It has been interesting for me in the past three years, discovering more about myself through painting. I'm always thinking, contemplating and observing. It gets tiring but I feel the need to do so, I feel the need to create," commented Mulaika when speaking to the media at her recent launch  She continued, "I had to make these works, I feel like I would explode if I didn't. Sometimes it takes months to finish a piece, others in three hours. The process is always changing with time. The only thing constant in my work is change." KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, April 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Malaysia Global Business Forum will host the MGBF Golden Quill Media Awards inKuala Lumpur on the 2nd of May, 2019, on the eve of the World Press Freedom Day. Over the past 12 months the media landscape has seen multiple changes as the country continues to chart a future towards a developed nation status. MGBF believes it is important to recognise the individuals at the cutting edge of that change. <https://photos.prnasia.com/prnh/20190429/2449300-1> The Malaysia Global Business Forum - Golden Quill Media Awards will recognise the contributions of the media towards a sustainable future. To make it more meaningful this year's awards will be held on the eve of World Press Freedom Day, which was first proclaimed by the UN General Assembly inDecember 1993, following the recommendation of UNESCO's General Conference. It is an opportunity to celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom, assess the state of press freedom throughout the world, defend the media from attacks on their independence and importantly pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the line of duty. "World Press Freedom Day is an opportunity to stop and take stock of where we are and where we want to be, to understand how the broader media industry can move towards a positive and sustainable future that contributes to the development of society.  In that light, the Malaysia Global Business Forum will continue to support the government and stakeholders to improve the media's capacity to report fairly in the cultural and technological context ofMalaysia ," statedNordin Abdullah who is the Founding Chairman of the Malaysia Global Business Forum. When most people consider press freedom they seldom consider the importance of media's ability to report freely and fairly on business activities in the country. "Freedom comes at a price, the media first need to be empowered with the right tools, that includes tools to monitor social media and other data driven solutions to access the vast sea of information that is now available, these require resources and expertise. We should not have a press that is on the wrong side of a technological divide in case they are easily manipulated." The Malaysia Global Business Forum would also like to see more international collaboration betweenMalaysia and other countries to increase the capacity of journalists "Diplomatic missions and international businesses established in the country should look at programs which empower local journalists and increase linkages with other countries." The continual improvement of the media is serious business but the awards evening is a chance for the media to let down their hair and relax. "While the media and in particular business media is a serious matter, the event will be held at fun place, the Muito Bom! Brazilian BBQ with a live band. The Muito Bom! Brazilian BBQ in Nexus Bangsar South is a great venue with great food and an excellent concept which allows everyone to have a good time. We want the media to have a chance to relax," statedNordin Abdullah who is also an EXCO member of the Malaysia Australia Business Council. The categories that will be recognised this year will be as follows: Most Influential Commentary Award; Emerging Reporter of the Year Award; Best International Business Reporting Award; Best Local Business Marketing Award; Best Sports Industry Development Award; Best International Bureau Coverage Award; Best Integrated Media Award; Best SME & Local Business Coverage; Most Innovative News Distribution; Most Innovative Data Driven Journalism; Best Property Industry Reporting; Best CSR Reporting; Emerging Data Analytics Firm; Best Social Media Video Development and the Best Report on Women in Business. The Malaysia Global Business Forum was established to assist stakeholders at the intersection of international business and Malaysian business through advisory, advocacy, research, networking and business matching. The awards night will recognise the important role that the media plays in that dynamic.  Invited guests include the President of the National Press Club, Dato' Ahirudin Attan @Rocky Bru, the event is also supported by the Crisis Management Centre and media consulting firm Bendahara Solutions.  For more information please visit www.MalaysiaGlobalBusinesssForum.com <http://www.malaysiaglobalbusinesssforum.com/>  Photo - https://photos.prnasia.com/prnh/20190429/2449300-1 <https://photos.prnasia.com/prnh/20190429/2449300-1>
